SDG 6: clean water and sanitation

Since 2018, Ambius has proudly partnered with the Made Blue Foundation, an organization dedicated to providing clean drinking water in regions where it is scarce. This collaboration highlights our commitment to SDG 6: ensuring clean water and sanitation for all.

Our approach mirrors the water we use for caring for our plants with an equal amount donated to water projects in developing countries. For every liter of water Ambius uses - approximately 70 liters per plant container annually - we donate one liter of clean drinking water to communities with limited access to safe water.

Thanks to this partnership, we have donated over 172 million liters of water through Made Blue. This provides at least 2,362 families with access to clean water for drinking, cooking, and hygiene for ten years or more. Access to clean water significantly improves daily life, boosting health and creating economic and educational opportunities. With reliable water sources, residents can spend more time on education and productive activities such as work. Many clean water facilities are located at schools and are available to the wider community for a small fee, which helps fund better education.

For our clients, every plant container installed by Ambius also supports this important cause. Through these efforts, we contribute directly to global well-being and a more sustainable future.

To further reduce our own water footprint, we use innovative solutions in our greenhouses and offices. In our greenhouses, water purification systems circulate stagnant water to prevent algae growth and enable more efficient water reuse. At our offices, sensor-operated faucets reduce unnecessary water use, promoting mindful consumption of this precious resource.

Ambius and Made Blue also collaborate to make holiday celebrations more sustainable. When customers choose an Ambius Christmas tree, 2,000 liters of clean drinking water are donated to developing countries; the exact amount of water a tree needs to grow, root, and thrive.
