Ambius's approach to social return

Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), including Social Return, is embedded in our core business strategy. We strive to balance People, Planet, and Profit, reflecting our commitment to sustainable and responsible business practices.

Social Return begins with strong HR management and accountable leadership. As a committed employer, we provide safe and supportive working environments, offer ongoing employee development, and deliver diverse training opportunities. We view employee growth as a continuous process.

Supporting individuals with employment barriers

To increase job opportunities for those with employment challenges, we have implemented various initiatives and continue to foster partnerships that maximize impact.

We are actively collaborating with organizations that specialize in placing people with employment barriers. Additionally, we partner with Stichting Zozijn, which supports individuals with disabilities by offering meaningful day programs that promote social inclusion and personal development. At Ambius, several Zozijn participants contribute daily by preparing plant containers. During the holiday season, this team expands to assist with Christmas preparations, with Ambius providing the necessary support to ensure their success.

We regularly provide internship opportunities for students from horticultural programs and special education. Many of these interns, often at level 2 or with disabilities such as autism, work in our warehouse where they assist with tasks like filling plant containers with hydro pellets or laminating the containers. This hands-on experience is invaluable for their development.

Social return in action

Currently, ten employees from Stichting Zozijn work in Ambius’s Greenhouse. Of these, 25% have an SROI background and have since been hired as permanent staff members. Each employee follows a personalized development plan and receives continuous support from Ambius. Our company is a certified training provider for both mainstream and special education.

Additionally, eight motivated team members, supported by a Zozijn specialist, help prepare and sort Christmas decorations.
