Sustainable Interior Design with Plants and Room Dividers

Interzorg provides elderly care, support for visually impaired and blind people, care for young people with dementia, rehabilitation, community care, and more in North and Central Drenthe. In collaboration with Interzorg Noord Nederland and .pet projectinrichters, we designed the new central office in Assen using plants placed in custom-made containers on cabinets and lockers, as well as within room dividers.

Greenery for Structure and Atmosphere

The aim was to use a limited number of plant species in the offices and communal areas, maintaining the sleek interior design while creating a sense of unity throughout the space.

From Concept to Realisation

In the offices and central corridors on the first floor, two types of plants were used. This created clear partitions between workstations and communal areas while defining natural walkways for staff and visitors. On the ground floor, an ‘urban jungle’ concept was applied in the room dividers, adding variety and a homely atmosphere. Two large mobile planters with Sanseveria complete the entrance, immediately creating a green and lively impression.

The Result

The Interzorg Assen office combines a clean, functional layout with a natural and inviting experience. The plants provide structure, visual calm, and a warm, homely atmosphere for both employees and visitors.
