Greenery for an inspiring office environment

De Rooi Pannen is an educational institution offering vocational secondary and higher education (vmbo and mbo) in trade, tourism, design, and marketing. The school is renowned for its practical approach, where students learn in an environment that closely mirrors professional industry standards.

Greenery for ambiance and functionality

For the refurbishment of several office spaces, we were asked to design a green concept that added atmosphere while remaining practical in daily use. The challenge lay in the original offices, which lacked spatial balance due to numerous fixed walls and furniture items. The vision was to create open-plan workstations featuring inviting colours, natural materials, and an optimal green experience.

From design to delivery

Working alongside the project manager, mood boards were reviewed, and green elements were carefully integrated into the floor plans. Based on this, a planting scheme was developed that fully aligned with the requirements and character of the office spaces.

For the planting, bold containers were selected, suitable for placement on top of storage units as well as on the main office floor. Large plants create an impressive green presence while serving as subtle, natural dividers between workstations.

The result

The office spaces have been transformed into open workstations where greenery, natural materials, and warm colour accents combine to create a balanced and pleasant working environment. The plants provide clear spatial structure, bring visual tranquility, and enhance the overall sense of openness and workplace comfort.

"It was a pleasure working with project manager Sandra to create a green plan that perfectly matched their needs. The result gives the office spaces a homely, welcoming feel while maintaining a bright and open atmosphere." -  Ruud van der Lee, Account Manager, Ambius
